Program

Strengthening Protection for Survivors of Trafficking

We work with government, civil society, and the private sector to strengthen Mongolia's efforts to prevent the trafficking of children, provide comprehensive, trauma-informed care for victims, and prosecute and convict traffickers.

Strengthening Protection for Survivors of Trafficking

Preventing and responding to trafficking in persons requires coordinated, victim-centered responses across justice and social service systems.

The Child Protection Compact strengthens Mongolia’s capacity to prevent trafficking, prosecute offenders, and provide comprehensive support for survivors. Launched in 2020 with funding from the U.S. Department of State, and implemented in partnership with World Vision, the program focuses on improving policies and institutional coordination and training law enforcement and service providers to respond to cases of trafficking and consistently provide victim-centered support to survivors.

APPROACH

The project applies a systems-strengthening approach that integrates policy reform, institutional capacity building, and service delivery improvements. Its distinctive model brings together government, civil society, and law enforcement through the Multi-Disciplinary Task Force to ensure coordinated, victim-centered responses.

The project combines training, mentorship, legal reform support, and data system strengthening with practical tools such as child-friendly spaces and forensic interviewing. By linking prevention, protection, prosecution, and partnership within a single framework, the project creates a scalable and sustainable ecosystem to combat the trafficking of children and improve outcomes for victims.
