Action Pathway
Transnational Challenges
Cybercrime, trafficking in persons, irregular migration, environmental shocks, resource and watershed management, maritime security, and scam centers—these are challenges and concerns that do not stop at national borders.
Their effects can weaken public trust, strain services, disrupt economies, and threaten regional stability. Fragmented institutions, uneven technical capacity, limited information sharing, and political or legal barriers can slow collective action, even when governments, civil society, businesses, and regional bodies recognize the need to work together. TAF helps partners turn shared concerns into practical cooperation by supporting locally grounded research, convening cross-border networks, strengthening institutions, and helping public and private actors apply evidence and experience to improve security, resilience, and coordinated regional responses.
APPROACH
TAF works with governments, regional bodies, law enforcement, civil society organizations, businesses, researchers, community leaders, and other local partners to strengthen cooperation on cross-border issues that require shared action. TAF supports partners through technical analysis, applied research, convening, dialogue, institutional capacity strengthening, and practical implementation support, including work on trafficking in persons, cybercrime, scam centers, maritime security, and regional energy and resource concerns. By helping partners understand risks, compare approaches, build trusted networks, and translate evidence into action, TAF contributes to stronger systems, better decisions, improved coordination, and greater resilience across Asia and the Pacific.
