Thanawat Keereepart

Mr. Thanawat Keereepart is an energy and infrastructure specialist with more than 20 years of experience in policy, regulation, investment, and project development across Southeast Asia. He has worked with The Asia Foundation in Thailand since 2021, where he leads work on environmental and social safeguards, sustainable infrastructure, energy transition, and resilient planning in the Lower Mekong region.

Previously, he was a Renewable Energy Policy Expert with USAID Clean Power Asia, where he supported major policy and regulatory initiatives, including Lao PDR’s first competitive solar auction, net-metering policy development in the Philippines and Vietnam, and the integration of battery energy storage and technical standards in Thailand and Vietnam.

Thanawat also held senior roles at EGAT International Company Limited, managing large-scale power infrastructure projects in Lao PDR and Indonesia, with responsibilities spanning project development, financing, safeguard implementation, and regional energy cooperation. He began his career as an engineer at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.

Thanawat holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
