Surveys and Countering Violent Extremism

A practitioner guideThis guide will acquaint development practitioners, those funding surveys, international and local NGOs, consultants and think tanks with the use of surveys in preventing or countering violent extremism (CVE).

Surveys are a powerful and flexible tool with many potential applications to CVE. This guide will help practitioners ensure that their surveys yield accurate, useful data about violent extremism while gathering information ethically and safely. It was produced with the support of the Governance, Fragility, and Water Branch of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)
