Lavenia has worked with The Asia Foundation since 2022 and supports the delivery of regional programs across the Pacific. She has more than 15 years of experience working across government, multilateral organizations, and regional civil society, with a strong focus on governance, regional cooperation, and partnership‑based program delivery.
She was formerly a diplomat with the Fiji government, with postings at the Fiji Mission to the United Nations in New York and the Fiji High Commission in London. Lavenia later worked with the United Nations Development Programme on governance initiatives focused on anti‑corruption and public finance management, supporting civil society engagement and regional collaboration across the Pacific.
Master’s degree in human resource management from the University of Melbourne; postgraduate diploma in international relations from the University of Fiji; postgraduate certificate in education from the University of the South Pacific; bachelor’s degrees from the University of the South Pacific and the University of Waikato.
