William P. Fuller Fellowship in Peacebuilding
Strengthening the Skills of Emerging Peacebuilders in Asia and the Pacific
The evolving complexity of subnational conflicts in the 21st century demands investment in a new generation of leaders who can innovate and drive solutions for peace. The William P. Fuller Fellowship in Peacebuilding is dedicated to the professional development of the next generation of leaders addressing conflict and peacebuilding in Asia and the Pacific.
Annually, the program fosters exchange within a small cohort connecting fellows with the global peacebuilding community and elevating their professional growth and work in the field. Fellows receive leadership training, expert-led training in peacebuilding approaches, and engage in professional development learning modules. The fellows participate in a 12-day study tour that is designed to meet the interests of each cohort, and that brings them into conversation with leading peacebuilding experts and institutions in the United States. Each fellow receives a $2,500 professional development award to support their individually tailored projects or advance professional development goals.
The program was started by TAF’s Board of Trustees in 2004 to honor Dr. Fuller at the conclusion of his 15-year tenure as president of TAF. This tribute reflects the organization’s long-standing interest in the field and Dr. Fuller’s personal concern for furthering the professional development of a cadre of young Asians with leadership potential and a commitment to advancing knowledge and experience regarding the management of subnational conflicts.
