Each year, the Young Asian Diplomats Program selects 10 or more outstanding diplomats and foreign affairs professionals from across Asia and the Pacific for a fully funded, two-week exchange in the United States. Participants are nominated by foreign ministries and other government agencies and chosen for their leadership potential and commitment to international engagement.
The immersive program combines discussions on U.S. foreign and domestic policy, leadership development, and direct engagement with policymakers, researchers, and institutions. Through site visits, expert briefings, and peer exchange, participants gain practical insights into U.S. governance while building professional relationships that strengthen regional understanding and cooperation.
Launched in 2019, the program is supported in part by the Henry Luce Foundation.
